Even though we live in Canada, Aunt Irene has always been a part of our lives. She was a warm and loving aunt to us. We remember the Christmas presents sent by post, and the times we were together, both in Canada and England. Growing up, we heard many exploits about Irene. Aunt Irene was good at tennis, and had many friends and a fun-loving spirit. She and our mother shared many World War II experiences in their teenage years, joining as Air Raid Wardens and nursing auxiliaries, digging a backyard trench, and being pen pals with Canadian soldiers. With love and remembrance, Susan, Gillian, and Michael
