One of my fondest memories of Irene are of her telling us about her experiences during WWII, always focusing on the positive and bright side of her experience, though never denying the darker moments. That's just like how I'll always remember her, full of life, curious and resilient, an example to us all until the very end. Thank you for all you've taught me Irene and rest in peace. Love, Adriano
