Irene had many holidays in Spain. She spent several summers on the north coast near Cudillero in Asturuas, Christmas in the UK but the Three Kings holidays around Madrid and notably New Year with the Alvarez Cortes family. She visited many places from Cuenca, Toledo and Segovia in the centre, Cordoba, Granada, Sevilla and Tarifa in the deep south, Salamanca and Portugal to the west. She had many friends there and enjoyed singing parties and family get-togethers for some 40 years. She was enchanted - "Encantada" and much loved by Spanish family and friends.
