My overriding memory of Irene was our visit to a ski show in Madrid in the early 1980s. Tony, Derek and I were all 'very' young teachers and ski enthusiasts. Recreational skiing was still fairly new in Spain and up-to-date gear did not have the same exposure it has now in this multi media age. 

Irene joined in with our enthusiasm as we watched a traditional catwalk fashion display of the latest ski clothing. She was even more enthusiastic when Tony imitated the models at the same time. In fact she broke out into uncontrollable laughter and distracted the audience away from the real show! Happy memories!!
